The Orkla Food Safety Standard

To ensure a high, uniform standard of food safety in all our companies, we have introduced the Orkla Food Safety Standard (OFSS).

All Orkla companies that produce food and beverages are required to meet the OFSS requirements.

OFSS was introduced in 2004. It is based on the internationally recognised British Retail Consortium Global Standard for Food Safety (BRC). This means that OFSS always has the same requirements as BRC. In certain areas, Orkla has introduced its own requirements, which come in addition to BRC.

  • Continued improvements in food safety are applied in all companies, resulting in a reduced risk level for both our customers and consumers
  • Throug OFSS, newly acquired Orkla companies are integrated better and more rapidly
